Mandy leading a Gallery For A DayWorkshop

About

Amanda Cooper,
Director of Gallery For A Day

Amanda Cooper has a Bachelor of Education and a Post Graduate degree in Children’s Literature. She has been a teacher for many years and specialised in Music, Library and Art.

Amanda is a collector of original artwork from picture books. She created Gallery for a Day, a travelling exhibition of original illustrations from many well-known Australian picture books. Illustrations from the collection form the basis of an engaging, interactive incursion for primary aged students. Amanda loves to share her passion for picture books, their illustrations and the creative process involved in their making.

Amanda has been a Childrens’ Book Council of Australia (CBCA) judge since 2017, appointed to the Early Childhood category. As part of her Gallery for a Day workshops she is happy to incorporate a judges talk for studnets, sharing with them her experiences throughout the judging process.

Mandy is passionate about children’s literature and bringing her love of reading, illustrations and books to the younger generations through her travelling exhibition.
